HOUSE - CONCEPT
This House is located in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The project is a residential scheme combining both old Johannesburg architecture with contemporary new.
The brief to studioJoy+Architects was to propose a residential scheme where the old building can be used in junction with the new satisfying the clients needs for open plan living.
The main materials to be used within the new building would be brick and concrete allowing the new building to comfortably merge with the architectural design of the old house. The house also has large windows to maximize the views on the hill over Johannesburg.
