KING EDWARD VII
CLOCK & CLOCK TOWER RESTORATION
CLOCK TOWER - CONCEPT

King Edward VII School’s Old Boy community adopting the nature of good governance, and in guardianship have become concerned regarding the status of disrepair and non-use of the primary architectural dominant feature of the school building. Namely the beautiful copper clad clock tower donning its clock face and flag pole.
Currently the clock is not operating. It has had it hands removed (and subsequently lost), and as such requires a new mechanism, hands and an upgrade to an electronic system, in order that it may become again a part of the daily life of the school functioning.
This aim is to protect, maintain and enhance the existing structure and its components and to retain and encourage sound building conservation techniques. Primarily the aim is to avoid the removal or alteration of distinguishing architectural features and building materials, but rather the restoration and maintenance of same.
